Francisco Goya's prints known as the "Disasters of War" changed my life. I was awed by the power of the compositions, the etching technique, the subject matter, and the complete absence of color. Most influential to me was the conscious choice to pivot from painting to etching that resulted in pairing the perfect style and theme. In my work "The Incorrigible Atheist", I pay homage to his works and the anthropomorphism of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” to tell my own story of a young me falling in love in New York and the characters that I met along the way.
